Job Description:

CACI is seeking a Cloud Engineer (SME) to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise for USSTRATCOM's cloud engineering initiatives. This role will drive the adoption, operational transition, and Tier 3 support of cloud, hybrid-cloud, and multi-cloud services, ensuring secure and scalable IT solutions across the command's lifecycle. Experience with DoDAF (Department of Defense Architecture Framework) is a plus, particularly with transitioning to the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) to align with evolving DoD standards. The work location is Omaha, Nebraska. This position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.

The Opportunity:

Join CACI as a Cloud Engineer (SME) to lead cloud engineering efforts within the Architecture & Engineering (A&E) team for USSTRATCOM. You will oversee the development and transition of cloud services, implement robust security measures, and drive modernization, delivering mission-critical IT capabilities in a high-impact role. Experience with DoDAF is a plus, particularly with transitioning to UAF to align with DoD standards. The work location is Omaha, Nebraska, with the position contingent upon contract award

Responsibilities:

Cloud Engineer, SME:

  • Provides technical/management leadership expertise of processes and procedures relative to the development and transition to cloud, hybrid-cloud, and multiple CSPs


  • Executes, manages, and supports the adoption, operational transition, and Tier 3 support of all USSTRATCOM Cloud Services, tools, applications, and supporting services across all CSP and Impact Level (IL) environments


  • Uses Cloud DEV/TEST environments to minimize risk prior to transition of Cloud Production services


  • Creates, tests, and exercises disaster recovery plans and COOP for all Cloud Services and workloads


  • Ensures all physical security and cybersecurity requirements are met in the protection of USSTRATCOM data migrating to and hosted on Cloud Services and all CSSP capabilities, functions, and requirements IAW DoD directives


  • Ensures Cloud Service Offerings (CSOs) are acquired IAW DoD and Federal policy and properly designated for the information IL


  • Establishes initial Cloud SOPs, technical work instructions, and automations supporting standard and elevated user account access, flexible and adaptive resource provisioning, and stand-up and tear-down of IaaS/PaaS/SaaS capabilities


  • May supervise others


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility


  • Required 8140 Certification : 671 - Intermediate (e.g., CEH, CFR, Cloud+, SSCP, PenTest+, Security+, GSEC) OR applicable ABET-accredited/CAE-designated degree OR equivalent training OR Foundational Qualification Alternative (DoD Component Waiver).


  • Required Certification (one of the following): AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional , Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert , Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect


  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.


  • Proven ability to lead cloud engineering initiatives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments while managing multiple priorities.

  • FEAC Blackbelt Architect


  • OMG Certifications: Unified Architecture Framework (OUP), UML (OCUP 2), SysML (OCSMP)


  • TOGAF 9 or newer

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$99,000 - $217,700
