The Opportunity:

Join CACI as a Data Engineer (SME) to lead data engineering efforts within the Architecture & Engineering (A&E) team for USSTRATCOM. You will drive the design of data pipelines, optimize databases, and support mission-critical AI/ML initiatives, utilizing expertise in the Enterprise Data Model (EDM), SQL, and ETL processes to deliver high-impact solutions in a dynamic environment. The work location is Omaha, Nebraska, with the position contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities:

Data Engineer, SME:

  • Implements new mechanisms for modeling and predicting behavior


  • Collaborates across teams on the design and maintenance of data marts (ETL, data modeling, metric design, reporting/dashboarding) to ensure a stable reporting infrastructure


  • Takes on research projects to improve data processing and any implemented machine learning frameworks used by our team


  • Provides data engineering support for the full range of planning and implementation of governance training and algorithmic models for data, AI, and ML


  • Provides engineering services for database design, implementation, maintenance, optimization, and security of all Enterprise databases across multiple environments (e.g., development, testing, production)


  • Develops, builds (accurate to blueprint, if applicable), and deploys development, test, and production database schemas on schedule


  • Develops, implements, and maintains MS SQL, MySQL, and Oracle databases


  • Provides architectural support that allows rapid data pivoting to deliver mission and business system databases


  • Uses data modeling tools to administer the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) to complete and deliver data definition language, and physical, and logical model objects


  • Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments


  • Interacts during client negotiations and interfaces with senior management


  • May supervise others


Qualifications:

Required:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility


  • Required 8140 Certification : 421 - Intermediate (e.g., Cloud+, SSCP, Security+, GSEC) OR applicable ABET-accredited/CAE-designated degree OR equivalent training OR Foundational Qualification Alternative (DoD Component Waiver).


  • Required Certification (one of the following): Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 8.0 Database Administrator


  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.


  • Proven ability to lead data engineering initiatives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments while managing multiple priorities.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$90,700 - $199,600
