As a CACI Public Affairs Planner, you will support the U.S. Central Command Public Affairs office (CCPA) which serves as the principal advisor to the Commander on all internal and external communication strategies and to support the command's theater objectives. CCCI supports the command's obligation to keep the American people and regional audiences informed about USCENTCOM operations that lead to defeating our adversaries, improving regional stability and promoting and protecting U.S. interest in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR).

This position requires an Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities:

As a Public Affairs Planner, you will be responsible for maintaining situational awareness of USCENTCOM's current and future planning priorities. In addition to developing and coordinating written public affairs guidance (PAG) and talking points (TPs) on long-range issues and operations for senior USCENTCOM leadership, planners will be responsible for developing supporting public affairs and communications strategies, followed up with documentation to support USCENTCOM operational plans. Planners should continually liaise with USCENTCOM J5 and J7 directorates with respect to USCENTCOM engagements and exercises in the AOR, including the development of supporting public affairs plans and coordinating those plans with both higher PA authorities and subordinate PA commands. Planners will be expected to participate in USCENTCOM's B2C2WG organizational construct as necessary, as well as support emergent 24/7 shift surge requirements, when necessary, in case of crisis events or as directed by CCCI director.

You will develop and coordinate communication plans for CONUS and OCONUS military exercises supporting the USCENTCOM J7 and USCENTCOM components exercise programs. You will participate in exercises, as needed, to manage and maintain external media relationships and interactions driving the USCENTCOM media relations strategy and assist in assessing exercise communication successes, failures, and effects providing feedback into after-action and lessons learned documents.

You will coordinate and execute strategic communication seminars with AOR partner nations. This includes working with Embassy country teams, JS Theater Security Cooperation experts, partner nation Ministry of Defense officials and partner military public affairs leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Current Secret Security Clearance.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in developing public affairs plans and media campaigns
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Current U.S. passport
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in a dynamic and highly political environment is required
  • Must exhibit excellent organizational, time management, writing, editorial, and presentation skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English


Desired:
  • Defense Information School (DINFOS) Public Affairs Officer Qualification Course (PAOQC)
  • Previous experience in a country or area in the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility - Middle East or Central Asia
  • Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) or military planning experience
  • Joint professional military education (JPME)

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$70,900 - $148,900
