Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a dedicated Threat Finance Analyst to join our team and support our critical missions. This role is ideal for professionals with deep experience in financial forensics-encompassing forensic accounting, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection-who have worked in high-stakes environments such as FINCEN, the FBI, or in the private sector. You will be instrumental in analyzing complex financial data to detect and mitigate illicit financial activities that threaten national security. Training in Joint Operations and Special Projects (JOSP) expertise is provided to ensure that you are well prepared for the challenges ahead.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Financial Forensics & Investigations: Conduct in-depth investigations into anomalous financial transactions with an emphasis on detecting money laundering, fraud, and illicit financing. Utilize forensic accounting techniques to uncover hidden patterns or suspicious activities, supporting both national defense and intelligence community objectives.
  • Inter-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with government, defense, and inter-agency partners to integrate financial forensics into strategic mission planning. Your analyses will inform critical decisions and help shape policies to counter emerging financial threats.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Analyze performance across various departments and business units to identify areas of financial risk and opportunity. Develop actionable recommendations for risk mitigation and improvements based on your forensic assessments.
  • Strategic & Operational Analysis: Support the department's financial planning process including budget reviews, capital planning, and long-term financial strategies-all viewed through the lens of thwarting threat finance. Evaluate potential acquisitions and partnerships with a keen forensic eye on financial integrity.
  • Data Reporting & Visualization: Build comprehensive databases and generate dynamic visual reports using advanced analytics tools. Present clear, compelling insights that highlight vulnerabilities and track the effectiveness of strategic initiatives in preventing financial crimes.
  • Due Diligence & Compliance: Assist in building robust business cases and perform rigorous due diligence to ensure that potential deals and partnerships meet high standards of financial integrity. Ensure all analysis complies with relevant financial policies and laws.
  • Operational Engagement: Maintain proactive communication with business and financial leadership while keeping a meticulous watch on operational statistics, trends, and emerging risks-alerting relevant stakeholders when immediate action is needed.

Minimum Qualifications

3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.

  • Education: Bachelor's in forensic accounting, finance, or a related field with specialized financial forensics coursework.
  • Experience: 3+ years in forensic financial analysis, AML, or fraud investigations. Experience in government or intelligence settings-and ideally exposure to environments supporting strategic commands such as US CYBERCOM-is highly valued.
  • Security Clearance: Current TS clearance with SCI eligibility and Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficient with financial systems (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet) and advanced Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or comparable data analytics tools. Adept at synthesizing complex data into actionable insights for mission-critical decisions.

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced Education & Certifications: Master's in finance, forensic accounting, or a related field. Additional certifications (CPA, CFE) further underscore your expertise.
  • Specialized Experience: 5+ years in forensic accounting, AML, or fraud detection within government, defense, or intelligence environments. Direct experience collaborating with high-level agencies or within strategic military commands like US CYBERCOM is a significant plus.
  • Technical & Operational Excellence: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and forensic analytics, with a track record of integrating multi-source data for regulatory reporting and investigative modeling in high-stakes operational settings.
  • Leadership & Interagency Collaboration: Demonstrated success leading interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicating complex findings to senior leadership in joint or DoD environments, aligning with the demands of strategic military missions.

Physical Requirements

Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment. Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated.
