Summary:

We are looking for a System Administrator Support SME I.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Integrate, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot computers, routers, switches, servers, databases, firewalls, and associated network equipment including Windows operating system, CISCO operating system, IGRP/EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols and associated firmware, software and hardware.
  • Provide system administration and technical support to manage access and authentication services on each system, including the issuance, suspension, revocation, and deletion of credentials.
  • Administer access and authentication services in accordance with CG policy, Cyber, and Industry Standards.
  • Provide system administration and technical support for all VTS systems.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiar with industry standard LAN and WAN policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of network security and how it is implemented in the Coast Guard.
  • Working knowledge of networking administrative tools.
  • Trained in latest CISCO network security and administrative tools.
  • Knowledgeable with DAMEWare, PuTTY, Powershell, command-line interface (CLI) in Windows and UNIXs scripting/CLI as applicable to support VTS projects and applications.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite products Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or related experience
  • CISCO Certified Networking Associated (CCNA) in Security or Routing and Switching
  • IAT Level II qualified. IAT Levels are defined in COMDTINST 5500.13(series).
  • Certified in Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue.
  • CG PUMP qualified.
  • Tower Climber Qualified
  • Five (5) years experience developing, optimizing, and supporting the network for the below devices or similar:
    • TERMA radar
    • Furuno radar
    • Zetron VHF controller
    • RedBox digital VHF communications recorder
    • FLIR Video Management Systems
    • Cambium Microwave system
    • CISCO routers and switches
    • AIS basestations
    • INVS system
    • SCCCS system
    • PAWSS devices
  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
