About the Role:
Are you a skilled Database Engineer looking for a fully remote opportunity to support impactful federal IT programs? We're seeking an experienced professional to join a long-term initiative with a federal agency, where you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining both custom and non-custom databases in a dynamic enterprise environment.
What You'll Do:
* Design and maintain secure, scalable databases that support mission-critical applications.
* Create and document data decomposition and flow diagrams.
* Develop, test, and maintain stored procedures and database access code.
* Collaborate with programming and technical teams to implement and uphold database standards and security protocols.
* Lead efforts in documenting best practices, conventions, and procedures for enterprise database usage.
* Work independently or lead small teams on complex database engineering tasks.
Required Qualifications:
* 4+ years of hands-on experience configuring, administering, and maintaining custom and standard databases.
* Strong command of SQL and experience writing efficient database code and stored procedures.
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
* Familiarity with data security standards and a collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
* Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Public Trust clearance (U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only due to government requirement).
Nice to Have:
* Prior experience supporting federal or public sector clients.
* Experience with data flow documentation tools or modeling software.
* Knowledge of DevSecOps environments and database automation.
