Position: NLCC Liaison
Location: Washington DC (Pentagon) OR Offutt Airforce Base NE
Clearance: Active TS/SCI required
Seeking an experienced defense professional to serve as an embedded NLCC Liaison to Combatant Command Headquarters (CCMD HQs) and the Joint Staff.
The Liaison's principal duty is to serve as the on-site representative for the Director, DoD CIO, National Leadership Command Capabilities (NLCC) Management Office (NMO) to a key stakeholder supporting execution of the DoD CIO's Principal Staff Assistant (PSA) responsibilities and policies.
Liaisons must demonstrate high self-motivation, work with minimal oversight, proactively engaging with military and civilian senior leaders of their representative headquarters, and continuously assess the CCMD's current and future operations, planning, and reqrements.
Job Duty Entails:
• Facilitate engagement between the NMO and CCMD leadership and staff via classified voice, video, and data communications links.
• Proactively complete NMO taskings using the experts available at the CCMD location, using daily interactions and relationships to move the mission forwards.
• Advise CCMD leadership on Director, NMO equities and key issues.
• Participates in local exercises and planning meetings that contain NMO equities, providing NC3 and NMO subject matter expertise.
• Brief Director NMO monthly on status of current projects, CCMD concerns, and upcoming events or planned briefings.
Qualifications needed:
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Master's degree or equivalent
• 15+ years of related experience
• Senior-level staff experience (at CCMDs, OSD, Joint Staff, military department staffs, military service staffs, or component command staff)
• Strong knowledge of DoD organization, joint doctrine, and joint requirements.
• Knowledge of nuclear command and control (NC2) and nuclear command, control. And communications (NC3) systems.
• Exceptional writing and briefings skills
• Comfortable interacting with senior-level officials.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Needed but not Mandatory:
• Prior experience at the selected CCMD
• Joint Professional Military Educations (Joint and Combined Warfighting School, Joint Advanced Warfighting School)
• Prior experience as a liaison officer.
