Responsibilities

  • Serve as a seasoned expert with a strong background in installing, configuring, and administering Windows Servers and Windows operating systems.
  • Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
  • Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
  • Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Provide technical support, advice, and troubleshooting for utility network operations, aiming for a 98% target network uptime.
  • Develop and document processes and procedures for day-to-day operations, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Implement systems as needed based on network application requirements.
  • Manage Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, SCCM, and WhatsUpGold efficiently.
  • Offer support for VMware ESX/VSphere Virtualization Technologies, covering design, management, and implementation.
  • Provide support for Storage Area Network (SAN) configurations.
  • Offer installation support for network applications, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Produce network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams to enhance clarity and understanding.
  • Conduct thorough network monitoring, encompassing all assets, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain all workstation and server images to maintain consistency.
  • Monitor and maintain McAfee's Host-Based Security System (HBSS), ensuring virus definitions, patch versions, and Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) compliance on all network servers and workstations.
  • Utilize the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to update, manage, and track the implementation of information security requirements for IT assets and resources.
  • Provide support as needed for the Department of Defense Information Assurance Risk Management Framework (DIARMF).

Qualifications

  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required for consideration.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications, or Management Information Systems preferred. Alternatively, have 10 years of documented experience relevant to this position.
  • Minimum DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification required.
  • Held or have held VMWare Certified Professional certification to align with the direction and supportability of current and future needs.
  • Requires a senior-level knowledge of TCP/IP network design and support, including proficiency with Cisco equipment, LAN and WLAN networks, routing, and sub-netting is essential.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience in producing, managing, and maintaining network architectural drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience providing installation support for network applications.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience performing network monitoring of the network to include all assets.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience providing technical support, advice and troubleshooting for utility network operations with a 99.999% target network uptime.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience producing documentation for use in configuration, repair and troubleshooting of hardware, software and network operating systems.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years working with TCP/IP in Software Defined Network (SDN) design.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience installing and configuring network equipment.
  • Document minimum of 5 years of experience regarding the ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
  • Document minimum of 5 years of experience regarding the ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation.
  • Document minimum of 5 years of experience regarding the ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience with developing and documenting processes and procedures for the day-to-day operations.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience in task automation using scripting.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing and maintaining patch versions and Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) levels on all network servers and workstations.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of experience utilizing the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to update, manage and track implementation of information security requirements for the IT assets and resources.
  • Demonstrate minimum of 5 years of supporting DoD Information Assurance Risk Management Framework (DIARMF).
  • DoD 8140 (DoDD 8570) IAT Level certification.
