The Judge Group is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team and support a classified customer in Washington, DC. This is an onsite position requiring five days per week in Washington, DC (20006).
As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. Your contributions will support IT modernization initiatives, optimize performance, and ensure reliable service delivery in alignment with mission objectives.
**This is a cleared position. It requires an active Secret security clearance, with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. Your contributions will support IT modernization initiatives, optimize performance, and ensure reliable service delivery in alignment with mission objectives.

Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, EBS, IAM).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Security & Compliance: Implement best practices in cloud security, including IAM roles, AWS Shield, encryption, and FedRAMP compliance.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Build and manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines with GitLab, Jenkins, and AWS CodePipeline.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor system health with AWS CloudWatch, troubleshoot issues, and improve system performance.
- Networking: Configure AWS networking (VPCs, Route 53, ELB, Direct Connect) to enhance scalability and availability.
- Migration & Hybrid Cloud: Assist in migrations to AWS and integrate multi-cloud and on-premises solutions.
- Automation: Develop Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual workload.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement AWS backup strategies, including automated snapshots and S3 lifecycle policies.
- Collaboration: Partner with government agencies, DevOps teams, and security engineers to align solutions with mission-critical requirements.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems administration, with expertise in AWS environments.
- Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (preferred) or similar AWS certifications.
- Security & Compliance: Strong knowledge of IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, DoD security standards).
- DevOps Tools: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, and AWS DevOps services.
- Networking Expertise: Proficient in AWS networking services (VPC, Route 53, VPN, Direct Connect, ELB).
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, and YAML/JSON.
- Multi-Cloud Experience: Experience with AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
- Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC, five days per week.
- Active Secret clearance, with ability to obtain a Top Secret.
