Network and Computer System Administrator - J2 STRATCOM

The Garrett Group is seeking a highly skilled Network and Computer System Specialist to act as the system administrator to support mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing and maintaining IT systems in a classified environment. The System Administrator will be responsible for integrating, operating, and securing mission applications while ensuring system stability and compliance with DoD security policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate and operate mission applications, including installation, testing, and deployment of new and enhanced applications.
• Develop user guides to assist end users in utilizing tools and applications.
• Perform Windows and Linux system administration, including patching, securing operating systems, deploying applications, and documenting changes through a change management process.
• Maintain and support Geospatial applications and associated requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for system security and compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Support system upgrades, migrations, and implementations as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must possess a current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification or current DoD 8140 certification. **
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including system hardening and security best practices.
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in secure environments.
• Familiarity with Geospatial applications and related technologies.
• Experience working with change management processes and documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI access

**Approved Certifications for IAT Level II:

• CompTIA Security+
• CCNA Security
• CySA+
• GICSP
• GSEC
• SSCP

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) approximately twice per calendar year.
