Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.
- Assess system vulnerabilities for security risks and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies on systems going through the acquisition process.
- May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard information and vital electronic infrastructure in complex networks and environments.
- May conduct cybersecurity testing of systems going through the acquisition process. May perform Cybersecurity services such as Assess and Authorize (A&A) Computer Network Defense (CND) services in order to protect the CIA of the NAVAIR Cyber environment.
- May assess risks to identified IT assets utilizing available threat and vulnerability information and provide risk recommendations as well as provide technical expertise/capability to identify security-related issues of both current.
and planned systems and networks and associated architecture on the NAVAIR enterprise and RDT&E classified and unclassified networks. - May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.
- Will need remain current on technological advances relevant to the requirements they support and provide documented recommendations when appropriate.
- Cybersecurity is a dynamic field under continual evolution - The Contractor shall maintain a relevant knowledgebase, training, and personnel mix to continually adapt to and meet shifting cyber threat areas, using the latest analysis, mitigation, and remediation techniques/tools.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance (or higher).
- Ten (10) years of experience implementing, upgrading and/or monitoring security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.
- B.S. degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or directly related IT degree, with relevant coursework in computer security.
- Relevant experience in Navy/DoD environment will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Active COMPTIA Security+ or similar industry certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- Recent experience in a validator role performing A&A, to include Test and Evaluation (T&E).
- Experience as a certified Navy Qualified Validator (NQV).
