A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
• Develop and implement software in languages including Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python to support cyber operations and mission systems.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including design reviews, code reviews, and readiness assessments in accordance with government software development procedures.
• Work as part of a cross-functional team delivering secure, mission-focused software solutions in high-stakes environments.
• Author technical documentation to support development activities and promote process transparency and reusability.
• Collaborate with senior programmers and engineers to learn and grow technical expertise within a fast-paced classified environment.
• Contribute to the development of innovative cyber tools and capabilities for real-world defense applications.
Is This You?
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Experience: No prior experience required — four (4) years of relevant programming experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
• Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph
• Traits: Eager to learn, detail-oriented, mission-driven, and ready to grow within a collaborative and highly secure environment
Core Skills
Required:
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, Python
• Ability to document code and participate in formal software reviews
• Familiarity with structured software development practices and secure coding principles
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Preferred:
• Exposure to cyber operations or DoD systems through coursework, internships, or self-directed projects
• Understanding of software version control systems and collaboration tools
• Ability to follow structured documentation processes and technical writing standards
