I am looking for senior software candidates with an active TS clearance to support a space ground system that is moving from a prototype into full operations. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM. I am less concerned with specific tech stacks or job titles and more focused on candidates who have general ground-to-space or space-to-ground experience, strong system-level knowledge, and prior experience in mission-critical or operational environments. This work requires engineers who can help shape and mature the system, not just execute tasks. Overall Hiring Goal The program is moving from an R&D / prototype reference system into a fully operational, large-scale space ground system. The early assumption that the system could be “lifted and shifted” from the prototype proved incorrect. The program now requires senior engineering leadership that can: • Take a reference program and redesign it for operational rigor • Architect a real-time, mission-critical ground system • Support massive data throughput (petabyte-scale over system lifespan) • Design systems that integrate: o Mission planning & mission management o Real-time visualization and user interfaces o Continuous operations (24/7 mission environment) o Interfaces with multiple external ground systems Key theme: We are prioritizing architectural thinkers and experienced leaders over narrow job titles. If a candidate has ground-to-space or space-to-ground experience, system design exposure, and the maturity to help shape operations—not just write code—the team wants to talk. What the Program Needs Right Now • Senior engineers who can design and lead, not just execute • People comfortable with ambiguity, scale, and early-phase architecture • Experience transitioning systems from prototype → operations • Strong collaboration with systems Software Lead Software Engineers (UI/UX focused) Verification & Test Database Developers
