Job Description
Falcata’s Products Solutions (PS) Group is currently seeking an Electronics Design Engineer in Huntsville, AL with an educational and/or industry focus in the design, development, and test of mixed signal, embedded, real-time hardware systems.
What to expect:
In this role, the candidate will design and develop mixed signal hardware boards and systems involving RF (20MHz – 8000 MHz), digital hardware, embedded microcontrollers, and FPGAs, and develop and execute test infrastructure, scripts, and test cases for hardware and software products using industry-standard test automation frameworks and tools.
This position requires a flexible individual with experience in rapid, new product development. Falcata’s PS Group is developing new products by leveraging technology across Falcata, incorporating relevant commercial products and capabilities, and designing “white paper” designs as necessary. This team is responsible for rapid development, demonstration, and initial product rollout as well as operational updates and upgrades necessary to position its products to support its customer’s ever-changing requirements. This position requires an individual familiar with all phases of product development and deployment to include changing requirements, hardware, software, and mechanical integration dependencies, field-testing, and configuration management. The individual in this position needs to design and implement testing approaches that support a product line with different features and levels of maturity.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 6-8 years of experience in the industry
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance or higher preferred
- Experience with Developing and executing unit, subsystem, and system test cases both in the lab and in the field
- History of developing white papers and analysis presenting concepts and possible solutions to technical problems
- Experience with embedded software with or without operating system support
- Experience with the following areas is required: Analog/Mixed Signal, Digital, and FPGA-based Systems/Subsystems Design and related Test Equipment
- Able to prioritize work and maximize productivity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with, SIGINT, and/or electronic warfare product development
- Experience with RF and digital test equipment (e.g. signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.)
- Experience with Xilinx/Altera FPGAs and their development environment
- Experience with Cadence (Orcad, Allegro) or Altium design suite
- Experience with MathCad, Matlab or Python
- Experience developing automated test cases with Python or similar language.
- Linux experience – environment, software development
- Self-motivated and freethinking individual capable of technical discussion, complex problem solving and scrutinizing prior assumptions.
- Possess excellent organizational and communications skills
- Able to prioritize work and maximize productivity.
- Experience with RF/Microwave ; software defined radar/radio.
