Summary

Defense Acquisition Support Services (DAS) is seeking an experienced Operational Analyst to support U.S. Army medical equipment readiness, maintenance operations, and lifecycle sustainment activities at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Army medical materiel, biomedical equipment maintenance, medical logistics, or integrated product support, with the ability to analyze equipment readiness, identify sustainment challenges, and provide actionable recommendations to government leadership.

This position supports the Logistics Assistance Program Branch (LAPB) by monitoring medical equipment availability, analyzing maintenance and readiness data, coordinating operational requirements, and developing decision-support products that directly contribute to Army medical readiness and mission effectiveness.

Former Army 68A Biomedical Equipment Specialists, 670A Health Services Maintenance Technicians, and experienced military medical logistics professionals are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze Army medical equipment readiness, maintenance operations, serviceability, and sustainment performance to identify trends, operational risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor equipment availability, maintenance status, repair cycle times, parts availability, equipment failures, and lifecycle sustainment metrics.
  • Support medical materiel readiness assessments, healthcare technology management, and integrated product support activities throughout the equipment lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain readiness reports, performance dashboards, technical assessments, briefings, and executive-level decision-support products.
  • Identify potential equipment readiness degradation, maintenance delays, and sustainment challenges while providing timely recommendations to government leadership.
  • Coordinate with biomedical equipment specialists, product managers, logistics personnel, contracting officers, financial managers, and Joint Force stakeholders.
  • Track operational requirements, program milestones, deliverables, risks, and action items to ensure timely completion of government priorities.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, staffing packages, decision papers, executive correspondence, and leadership presentations.
  • Collect, validate, organize, and analyze complex maintenance and logistics data to support informed decision-making.
  • Translate technical findings into clear operational assessments that explain equipment readiness impacts and potential consequences to combat readiness.
  • Support Army command and staff coordination processes, ensuring readiness-related information is accurately communicated through appropriate leadership channels.
  • Provide proactive status updates and predictive assessments regarding equipment failures, maintenance trends, and operational readiness concerns.

Required Qualifications
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance and be able to maintain it throughout employment.
  • Prior experience supporting Army medical materiel, biomedical equipment maintenance, medical logistics, sustainment, or integrated product support activities.
  • Technical or operational experience comparable to an Army 670A Health Services Maintenance Technician or experienced 68A Biomedical Equipment Specialist.
  • Experience analyzing medical equipment readiness, maintenance performance, equipment availability, and lifecycle sustainment requirements.
  • Knowledge of DoD and Army medical materiel readiness processes, maintenance documentation, technical requirements, and medical logistics operations.
  • Experience tracking maintenance status, serviceability, repair cycle times, parts availability, equipment lifecycle data, and readiness performance metrics.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate operational reports, technical assessments, briefings, decision papers, staffing packages, and leadership-level correspondence.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience collecting, validating, interpreting, and presenting complex operational or sustainment data.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance personnel, logisticians, program managers, contracting professionals, and government stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Army command and staff coordination processes, decision-making authorities, and operational reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise collaboration applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and provide accurate, timely status updates to government leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior military service or civilian experience supporting Army medical maintenance operations, medical logistics, or healthcare technology management.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, or Power Automate.
  • Experience developing readiness dashboards, predictive maintenance models, sustainment plans, automated workflows, or operational performance reports.
