Senior Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a company focused on delivering secure, mission-critical network operations and infrastructure support for Department of Defense environments. This position is on-site at Joint Base Andrews, MD. The Senior Network Engineer will lead the deployment, administration, security, and sustainment of enterprise and data center network infrastructure supporting classified and unclassified environments. This role is critical to ensuring operational readiness, network resiliency, and secure communications across mission-essential systems. Responsibilities for the Senior Network Engineer include:

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco Catalyst and Nexus routing and switching infrastructure in enterprise and data center environments.
• Administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center), RSA Authentication Manager, and F5 BIG-IP load balancing solutions.
• Install, configure, secure, and maintain TACLANE/HAIPE encryption devices while supporting classified and unclassified network communications.
• Implement and maintain DISA STIG compliance, network hardening initiatives, and cybersecurity best practices across enterprise network devices.
• Serve as a Tier III escalation point supporting network outages, performance troubleshooting, change management activities, disaster recovery exercises, and coordination with DoD stakeholders.

Required Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:

• 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience supporting enterprise, data center, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center), TACLANE/HAIPE devices, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLANs, STP, vPC, F5 BIG-IP, and network monitoring tools.
• Strong knowledge of network security, DISA STIG implementation, 802.1X authentication, NAC solutions, multicast routing, and troubleshooting complex enterprise networks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field; OR equivalent military/commercial experience.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
• Must possess CCNA or CCNP Enterprise certification and CompTIA Security+ CE in compliance with DoD 8140 requirements.

Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer include:

Salary Range: $135,000-$145,000
