Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. SOC Analyst III - Secret Clearance for a leading government and defense-focused organization. The Sr. SOC Analyst III role is a fully onsite position requiring 5 days per week onsite. The Sr. SOC Analyst III will support enterprise security operations through advanced monitoring, threat detection, incident investigation, and response activities. An ideal candidate for the Sr. SOC Analyst III role possesses strong Splunk expertise, extensive security operations center experience, and the ability to contribute to detection engineering and threat investigations. Active Secret Clearance is required.
Responsibilities of the Sr. SOC Analyst III:
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents utilizing Splunk and other enterprise security tools.
• Conduct advanced threat investigations, incident triage, root cause analysis, and remediation activities.
• Develop, tune, and enhance detection rules, correlation searches, and alerting capabilities to improve threat visibility.
• Analyze threat intelligence and indicators of compromise to proactively identify and mitigate security risks.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams to strengthen security monitoring and incident response processes.
Qualifications of the Sr. SOC Analyst III:
• Active Secret Clearance required with the ability to maintain clearance eligibility.
• 7+ years of Security Operations Center (SOC) experience with a focus on incident response and threat analysis.
• Strong hands-on experience with Splunk, including search creation, dashboard development, and detection tuning.
• Experience conducting threat hunting, malware analysis, and cybersecurity investigations within enterprise environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Compensation for the Sr. SOC Analyst III includes:
• Salary range: $125,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
