Location: King George, VA (Hybrid)
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance (eligible for Top Secret upgrade)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $50-$52/hr W2
About the Opportunity
TEKsystems is seeking a Data Analyst to support a long-term federal program in the Dahlgren, VA area. This role focuses on data management, reporting, dashboard development, and financial analysis supporting government stakeholders and mission-critical operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing reports and dashboards using SQL and IBM Cognos (or similar reporting tools), supporting ERP systems, and performing financial data analysis. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using SQL and IBM Cognos.
Analyze, validate, and manage data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
Design and maintain database tables, data structures, and supporting documentation.
Support data warehousing activities including data acquisition, integration, and loading.
Develop reporting requirements, validation procedures, and interface specifications.
Investigate data discrepancies and troubleshoot reporting or system issues.
Collaborate with technical teams and government stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver business intelligence solutions.
Support financial reporting and analysis involving Navy ERP and related financial systems.
Assist with system testing, validation, documentation, and end-user support.
Ensure compliance with data governance and security requirements.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance.
Ability and willingness to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
5+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or database management.
Strong SQL query development experience.
Experience developing dashboards and reports using IBM Cognos or similar reporting tools.
Experience working with relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience supporting financial reporting, accounting data, or ERP systems.
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Navy ERP.
Experience supporting Department of Defense or federal government programs.
Financial reporting or Working Capital Fund experience.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
Experience participating in system testing and user training initiatives.
Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
