Summary:
• Conduct active cyber threat hunt operations across big data platforms and synthesize findings into actionable intelligence.
• Apply data science, advanced statistical modeling, and visual analytics to uncover threat patterns and deliver customer-facing insights.
• Translate operational cyber defense requirements into automated platform capabilities and deliver technical training to end users.
Qualifications & Compensation:
• Degree: Technical master's degree or equivalent experience
• Years of experience: 14+ years
• Total Compensation: $323k+ yearly
Job Description:
• Champion platform capabilities and assist operational teams with defensive cyber operations and threat hunting methodologies.
• Query and analyze complex security telemetry using Python, SQL, and KQL within cloud and big data environments.
• Design, test, and deploy threat detection signatures and analytics utilizing SIGMA, Yara, and network monitoring tools.
• Perform network traffic analysis and vulnerability assessments leveraging Wireshark, Zeek, SIEM, and SOAR tools.
• Build interactive dashboards and data visualizations in tools such as Power-BI or Superset to communicate operational trends.
• Maintain situational awareness of emerging threats aligned to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and support analytic requests.
Telework:
This position supports a hybrid schedule requiring on-site presence up to four days per week in Washington, DC.
