JOURNEYMAN NETWORK ADMINISTRATION AND ESCALATION SUPPORT

The Opportunity
Own complex site-level network issues from investigation through restoration. This position requires independent troubleshooting, sound change-management judgment, and the ability to coordinate with enterprise teams when problems cross technical boundaries.
What You Will Do
• Diagnose and resolve escalated routing, switching, VLAN, DNS/DHCP, and network performance issues.
• Implement approved configuration changes to network devices and validate service after maintenance.
• Investigate recurring incidents using logs, monitoring alerts, interface statistics, and network diagrams.
• Coordinate troubleshooting with systems, security, telecom, and enterprise network teams.
• Prepare root-cause summaries and recommend practical actions to prevent repeat outages.
• Maintain accurate incident, change, configuration, and asset records in designated enterprise systems.
• Follow approved change-control, cybersecurity, access-control, and escalation procedures.
What You Bring
• Demonstrated hands-on experience administering enterprise routers, switches, and network services.
• Ability to troubleshoot layered connectivity issues independently and explain technical findings.
• Experience with ticket prioritization, change requests, configuration backups, and operational documentation.
Additional Experience That Helps
• Experience with Cisco IOS or similar enterprise networking platforms.
• Familiarity with network hardening, STIG-aligned practices, and regulated change control.
Working Environment & Expectations
This position supports on-site operations at the assigned installation; the final duty location and schedule will be specified for each opening. Work may require coordination across time zones, incident escalation, and adherence to site-specific access and cybersecurity procedures.
