Field/Base Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field/Base Network Engineer to support a long-term Department of Defense program focused on enterprise network infrastructure, network operations, and communications support. This position is 100% onsite in Dahlgren, VA. The Field/Base Network Engineer will support the administration, troubleshooting, integration, and maintenance of enterprise LAN, Base Area Network (BAN), and WAN environments, ensuring reliable network connectivity and operational readiness across mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the Field/Base Network Engineer:

• Evaluate, configure, administer, and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and infrastructure supporting LAN, BAN, and WAN environments
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure-related issues across enterprise environments
• Support the integration, configuration, and testing of complex, large-scale network systems
• Plan, coordinate, and execute network conversions, migrations, and cutovers
• Coordinate network changes and implementation activities with stakeholders, users, and site personnel
• Perform network configuration, validation, and testing to ensure operational reliability and compliance with established standards
• Provide technical support for network infrastructure operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities

Qualifications of the Field/Base Network Engineer:

• 4+ years of professional experience in network engineering, network administration, or communications infrastructure support
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
• OEM network support certification such as Cisco CCNA
• Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting LAN, BAN, and WAN environments
• Experience configuring, integrating, and testing enterprise network infrastructure
• Experience supporting network conversions, migrations, and cutover activities
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills

Compensation for the Field/Base Network Engineer includes:

• Salary: $69,000-72,000 depending on experience
