Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a USMC Logistics & GCSS-MC Functional Specialist with deep subject matter expertise in United States Marine Corps (USMC) logistics and supply chain business processes, the Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), and the broader ecosystem of integrated Federal, Department of War (DoW), Department of the Navy (DoN), and USMC systems. The Functional Specialist will serve as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders, translating operational and business requirements into effective, sustainable system and process solutions that support the Warfighter.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide functional expertise across the full spectrum of USMC logistics and supply chain business processes, including supply, maintenance, warehousing, distribution, retail/wholesale operations, and asset accountability.
• Serve as a GCSS-MC functional lead, supporting requirements definition, configuration analysis, functional testing, deployment, sustainment, and end-user support of the Oracle E-Business Suite–based solution.
• Analyze and document current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") business processes; identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation.
• Support the integration of GCSS-MC with other Federal, DoW, DoN, and USMC systems (e.g., DAI, Navy ERP, WAWF/iRAPT, GFEBS interfaces, DLA systems, Marine Corps logistics authoritative data sources, and related financial and transportation systems).
• Develop functional requirements, use cases, user stories, business rules, process flows, SOPs, and training materials.
• Facilitate working groups, requirements sessions, and stakeholder engagements with Marine Corps program offices, functional sponsors, and operational users.
• Support change management, user adoption, and functional sustainment activities, including Tier 2/3 functional issue analysis and resolution.
• Provide input to program documentation, briefings, decision memoranda, and artifacts supporting the DoD acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in USMC (or closely related DoD) logistics, supply chain, or ERP functional roles.
• Demonstrated, hands-on functional expertise with GCSS-MC, including its core supply and maintenance business processes and underlying Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) modules.
• Working knowledge of integrated Federal/DoW/DoN/USMC logistics, financial, and transportation systems and the data flows that cross them.
• Strong understanding of USMC logistics doctrine, policies, and operational workflows at the unit, MEF, and enterprise levels.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both operational Marines and senior government stakeholders.
• Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior active-duty USMC experience in a logistics, supply, or maintenance MOS, or equivalent Marine Corps civilian experience.
• Experience supporting GCSS-MC program office activities (e.g., PM GCSS-MC/LCM), functional sponsor organizations (e.g., HQMC I&L), or related sustainment efforts.
• Familiarity with Agile/SAFe delivery, DevSecOps practices, and modern ERP modernization initiatives.
• Experience with business process modeling tools and requirements management tools.
