Baer is looking for DevOps Engineer for a 12-month Federal remote Project

Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to manage and support AWS-based cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. The role involves production troubleshooting, infrastructure management, CI/CD pipeline support, automation, and Kubernetes operations.

Description:

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure high availability and performance of cloud environments.
  
• Investigate logs, metrics, alerts, and traces using Grafana, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools.
  
• Maintain and troubleshoot Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  
• Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, including infrastructure changes, drift detection, and remediation.
  
• Support Kubernetes and AWS EKS workloads, including pods, services, deployments, and Helm charts.
  
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure and configuration management.
  
• Manage application secrets and configurations using HashiCorp Vault or equivalent tools.
  
• Handle production incidents, customer tickets, and escalations while meeting defined SLAs.
  
• Participate in on-call rotations and planned after-hours maintenance activities.
  
• Maintain operational documentation and continuously improve processes and automation.
  

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Operations / DevOps, with 10+ years of overall IT experience preferred.
  
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform.
  
• Strong experience troubleshooting and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Hands-on experience with Ansible automation and playbook troubleshooting.
  
• Production support experience with Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
  
• Working knowledge of Docker, Helm, and CLI-based troubleshooting.
  
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Dynatrace.
  
• Experience supporting production systems with incident management and on-call SLAs.
  
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
