Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a company focused on secure enterprise networking, cyber defense, and communications infrastructure within Department of Defense environments. This position is onsite at Andrews AFB, Maryland. The Senior Network Engineer will provide advanced network engineering, infrastructure administration, and cybersecurity support across classified and unclassified enterprise networks. This position is onsite at Andrews AFB, Maryland. The Senior Network Engineer will provide advanced network engineering, infrastructure administration, and cybersecurity support across classified and unclassified enterprise networks. Join a mission-critical team responsible for maintaining secure, resilient communications that directly support national defense operations.
Responsibilities for the Senior Network Engineer include:
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure including Cisco routers, switches, and transport systems.
- Monitor network operations, identify and resolve Layer 1-3 incidents, and escalate complex outages as required.
- Perform Cisco IOS/IOS-XE upgrades, firmware updates, vulnerability remediation, and network security hardening activities.
- Administer TACLANE, HAIPE, and other Type-1 encryption devices while maintaining COMSEC accountability procedures.
- Lead infrastructure modernization efforts, authorized service interruptions (ASIs), and support operational leadership functions when required.
Required Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:
- 5+ years of network engineering experience supporting enterprise or DoD environments.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies including VLANs, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, EIGRP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
- Strong troubleshooting experience across Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 environments, including classified network infrastructures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related STEM field; equivalent military training, certifications, and experience may be substituted.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Current CCNA and CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8140 IAT Level II/III certification compliance).
- Experience supporting TACLANE, KG-17XX, HAIPE devices, and network encryption management platforms.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $125,000 depending on experience
