This role is responsible for architecture evaluation, cloud-based processing and orchestration, Salesforce integration, testing, deployment, and production readiness within a federal operating environment.

Program Overview

Key Details
  • Location: Remote

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate end-to-end communication architecture across Salesforce, S-Docs, AWS, and VA Notify for scalability, reliability, security, auditability, and observability.
  • Assess S-Docs template generation and identify data dependencies, automation triggers, and governance controls required to maintain HTML and PDF template quality at scale.
  • Analyze Salesforce integration patterns for transmitting high-volume communication payloads to AWS, considering API limits, throughput, latency, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
  • Design and implement AWS integration components using Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, dead-letter queues, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Develop processing, transformation, routing, error-handling, and orchestration capabilities supporting secure delivery through VA Notify.
  • Build and refine Salesforce integration components, including outbound and inbound callouts, automation workflows, status updates, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Evaluate VA Notify APIs and implement processing for delivery status, bounce, and failure reporting.
  • Execute unit, integration, end-to-end, load, and performance testing to validate the solution under high-volume conditions.
  • Deploy changes through CI/CD pipelines across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational controls to support production readiness and ongoing system reliability.
  • Develop architectural and technical documentation, including data flows, sequence diagrams, decision logs, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and support groups to communicate findings, resolve issues, and support production handoff.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in data engineering, systems integration, ETL development, cloud engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS and dead-letter queue patterns, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with Salesforce integration patterns, including outbound and inbound callouts, Apex, Flow automation, and document-generation solutions such as S-Docs, Conga, or Nintex Drawloop.
  • Proficiency with SQL and at least one scripting or programming language used for integration and data processing, such as Python or Apex.
  • Experience designing or supporting API-based integrations and asynchronous processing patterns.
  • Experience with the full testing lifecycle, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and high-volume load and performance testing.
  • Experience deploying solutions through CI/CD pipelines across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
  • Ability to quickly learn and support VA Notify or comparable notification and delivery-status APIs.
  • Experience supporting federal government programs and familiarity with federal security and compliance requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53.
  • Ability to create clear technical and architectural documentation and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust eligibility.
