Cryptography Subject Matter Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified Cryptography Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Laurel, MD. This position involves providing technical expertise and guidance on cryptographic systems, algorithms, and protocols to ensure the security and integrity of sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement cryptographic solutions to protect sensitive data and communications.
• Conduct cryptographic vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cryptographic systems.
• Collaborate with software developers and security teams to integrate cryptographic controls into applications.
• Stay current with emerging cryptographic technologies and standards.
• Mentor and train junior cryptographic engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cryptography and information security.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and standards (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC, TLS).
• Experience with cryptographic libraries and tools (e.g., OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle).
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and threat modeling.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Security clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with quantum-resistant cryptography.
• Knowledge of hardware security modules (HSMs).
• Familiarity with cloud security and cryptographic key management.
