Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support a long-term Department of Defense enterprise networking program focused on modernizing and maintaining critical military communications infrastructure. This position is on-site in Quantico, VA. The Network Engineer will support the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of large-scale enterprise network environments. This is an opportunity to contribute to a mission-critical program funded through 2028, supporting secure and reliable networking capabilities across complex defense environments.

Responsibilities for the Network Engineer include:

• Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise LAN, BAN, and WAN infrastructure.
• Engineer and integrate routing and switching solutions utilizing BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF, MPLS, and other enterprise technologies.
• Implement and maintain network security controls including ACLs, IPsec VPNs, firewalls, Layer 2 VPNs, and secure network architectures.
• Manage and optimize network services such as DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, proxy services, URL filtering, and caching solutions.
• Support network modernization efforts including technology upgrades, cutovers, migrations, multivendor integrations, performance analysis, and capacity planning.

Required Qualifications for the Network Engineer include:

• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT and network engineering environments.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and other enterprise networking platforms.
• Strong expertise in routing, switching, network security, performance optimization, and enterprise network architecture.
• Experience with BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, PKI, identity and access management, and two-factor authentication technologies.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• IAT Level III certification required (CISSP, CISA, SecurityX, CASP+)

Compensation for the Network Engineer Include:

• Salary: $110,000-130,000 **depending on experience**
