Job Description:
We are recruiting for a contractor opening in Orlando focused on aircraft survivability equipment and threat-related rotary wing simulation.
We are seeking an L4 Systems Engineer to support an IRAD effort focused on next-generation rotary wing training capabilities, including CH-53K and MH-60R/CG use cases.
This role brings together aircraft system behavior, mission scenario requirements, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support technically accurate helicopter training simulations.
The position focuses on aircraft survivability equipment, threat modeling, Cameo/SysML, IBM DOORS, model-based systems engineering, and aircraft systems and malfunctions.
Responsibilities include defining system behavior, developing requirements, creating system architectures, defining interfaces, and maintaining requirements traceability.
Utilize IBM DOORS for requirements management, requirements decomposition, allocation, traceability, and verification throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
Develop, manage, and maintain system requirements in DOORS while ensuring alignment with system architecture, interfaces, behavioral models, and verification activities.
Work across engineering disciplines and with subject matter experts to connect simulation behavior to the operational and training requirements it is intended to represent.
Responsibilities may include modeling chaff and flares, warning receivers, threat cues, defensive responses, countermeasure logic, and threat scenarios.
Aircraft system modeling may include functional behavior, cautions and warnings, fault injection, failure propagation, degraded operating modes, and the cues required to support appropriate crew responses.
Cameo/SysML activities may include requirements decomposition, use case modeling, architecture development, interface definition, and requirements traceability.
Apply MBSE methodologies and requirements management tools, including Cameo, SysML, and DOORS, to define how aircraft systems, survivability functions, and mission scenarios interact.
Support integration between DOORS requirements and Cameo/SysML models to maintain end-to-end requirements traceability and provide software and test engineers with a clear technical basis for implementation and evaluation.
We are looking for engineers with relevant experience in aircraft survivability equipment, threat modeling, aircraft systems, or mission-related simulation, along with capabilities in model-based systems engineering, SysML, Cameo, or DOORS.
Experience in requirements analysis, system architecture, interface definition, behavioral modeling, and traceability will be valuable in this multidisciplinary role.

Knowledge of rotorcraft operations, pilot training, or simulator systems is strongly desired.
Strong communication skills, the ability to learn quickly, and effective collaboration with software engineers, systems engineers, pilots, instructors, and subject matter experts are important.
Experience using AI-assisted tools for research, analysis, and documentation is also beneficial, provided results are independently validated against reliable technical, operational, and training requirements.
Candidates do not need to possess every skill listed. The team values complementary technical expertise and the ability to develop knowledge in related areas.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
Ability to obtain a security clearance upon conversion to a full-time position.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with aircraft survivability equipment and threat modeling.
Knowledge of aircraft systems, malfunctions, and mission-related simulation.
Experience with Cameo, SysML, or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Experience with IBM DOORS for requirements management, requirements development, decomposition, allocation, traceability, and verification.
Experience in requirements analysis, system architecture, interface definition, and requirements traceability.
Familiarity with integrating DOORS requirements with Cameo/SysML models and maintaining end-to-end requirements traceability.
Knowledge of chaff, flares, warning receivers, countermeasures, and threat scenarios.
Experience with behavioral modeling, fault injection, failure propagation, and degraded operating modes.
Knowledge of helicopter operations, pilot training, or simulator systems.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and subject matter experts.
Experience using AI-assisted tools for technical research, analysis, and documentation.
