Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and maintaining complex IT infrastructure, with a focus on Windows and Linux environments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.
• Provide technical support to users and resolve IT-related issues.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to plan and execute system upgrades and improvements.
• Ensure security compliance and implement best practices for data protection.
• Document system configurations and procedures for knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proven experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and DNS.
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and common distributions.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
• Experience with database management systems (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).

Clearance Requirement: Secret clearance required.
