Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and maintaining complex IT infrastructure, with a focus on Windows and Linux environments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain servers, networks, and systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Implement and configure software and hardware solutions to meet business needs.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to plan and execute system upgrades and improvements.
• Ensure security protocols are followed and implement necessary security measures.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proven experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and DNS.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line utilities.
• Experience with network protocols, TCP/IP, and firewall configurations.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.

Clearance Requirement: Secret clearance required.
