Systems Administrator (Linux/Windows/VMware)
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Systems Administrator to build, maintain and improve a mixed Windows, Linux and VMware environment supporting a DoD mission. You’ll handle everything from the operating system up: installs, patching, troubleshooting and performance tuning. You’ll also work directly with government customers, vendors and Agile teams to keep systems secure and reliable.
What You’ll Do
Install, configure and troubleshoot:
Red Hat and Windows servers
NetApp storage
VMware vCenter, ESXi and Horizon/VDI
NetBackup
Oracle 11g and Microsoft SQL databases
Handle day-to-day administration: upgrades, patching, monitoring, configuration management and problem resolution
Recommend and implement improvements to system performance and reliability
Write and maintain technical procedures and documentation
Work with vendors to resolve issues and evaluate their products and services
Support customers directly and resolve their technical issues
Required Qualifications
6+ years of total work experience, including 3+ years directly in systems administration
Administration of complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms, including building systems from the OS level up
VMware experience:
Installing and administering ESXi hosts
Deploying vCenter
Configuring virtual storage over iSCSI and NFS
Information Assurance (IA) experience, including applying IA requirements to existing systems and managing Active Directory group policies
Scripting experience: developing, debugging and maintaining scripts
U.S. citizenship
Active DoD security clearance at the required level, and the ability to maintain it
Preferred Qualifications
Windows Server 2016+, VMware 6.7+, NetApp and VMware Cloud Foundation
Network services (DNS, DHCP, NPS) and authentication services (Active Directory, RADIUS)
Strong root-cause troubleshooting on infrastructure issues
Experience with containerized environments
Experience working with government customers and Agile teams
