Sr. Storage Administrator and Engineer (TS/SCI FSPG)

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Storage Administrator / Engineer to support a leading government services and defense industry organization. The Sr. Storage Administrator / Engineer will be responsible for enterprise storage, backup, and SAN infrastructure administration, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of critical systems in a highly regulated environment. The Sr. Storage Administrator / Engineer role is a long term open ended contract that requires you to work onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role requires an active TS/SCI with FSPG.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Storage Administrator / Engineer:

• Monitor and manage enterprise backup environments including NetBackup, Cohesity, Commvault, and Rubrik platforms.

• Work with internal customers to onboard new servers and virtual machines into backup systems and troubleshoot backup-related issues.

• Configure and deploy new backup solutions and technologies as required.

• Troubleshoot and coordinate break/fix activities for backup appliances and storage systems including Oracle ZFS, NetApp, VAST Data, and IBM storage arrays.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain SAN environments through command-line administration and zoning activities.

• Partner with Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated and security compliance is maintained.

• Support System Security Plan (SSP) reauthorization activities and compliance efforts.

• Monitor and resolve issues related to Brocade SAN switches utilizing advanced troubleshooting and zoning techniques.

• Participate in a scheduled rotational on-call support program for after-hours operational support.

Requirements of the Sr. Storage Administrator / Engineer:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP).

• Security+ CE certification or higher.

• 10+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Storage Administration, or Storage Engineering.

• Hands-on experience with NetBackup, Cohesity, Commvault, and Rubrik backup technologies.

• Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms including NetApp, Oracle ZFS, IBM Storage, and VAST Data solutions.

• Strong SAN administration experience, including zoning and troubleshooting of Brocade switches.

• Experience supporting security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and accreditation activities.

• Strong command-line troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Compensation for the Sr. Storage Administrator / Engineer:

• Salary range: $120,000 - $170,000
