Windows/Linux Systems Administrator

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Windows/Linux System Administrator to support a company supporting federal contact center and enterprise communications operations. This position is onsite in the Washington, DC metro area, and is an opportunity supporting mission-critical systems.

The Windows/Linux System Administrator will support enterprise telephony and infrastructure environments across a secure federal program. This individual will be responsible for maintaining Windows, Linux, VMware, and Avaya systems while ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities for the Windows/Linux System Administrator include:

• Administer and support Avaya telephony systems, call recording platforms, and workforce management tools.

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.

• Manage VMware ESXi and vCenter infrastructure, including upgrades and troubleshooting.

• Troubleshoot issues involving Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, networking, and system integrations.

• Apply operating system patches, perform preventive maintenance, and monitor system health.

• Partner with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance requirements are met.

• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule supporting 24x7x365 operations.

Qualifications for the Windows/Linux System Administrator include:

• Active Secret Security Clearance required.

• 7+ years of experience supporting telephony systems in a Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer role.

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.

• Experience supporting Avaya platforms, call recording solutions, and workforce management applications.

• Strong VMware experience with ESXi, vCenter, and virtualization technologies.

• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, IPv4/IPv6 networking, certificate management, and security remediation.

Compensation for the Windows/Linux System Administrator includes:
