Job Description
ABOUT WOVEN SOLUTIONS
Woven Solutions delivers mission-critical technology for those who protect what matters. Through our subsidiary Apira Technologies, we build AI-enabled capabilities purpose-built for federal law enforcement and national security partners. Our work sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and identity technology, developing tools that keep pace with the evolving digital threat landscape.
We are a fast-growing company with a startup mentality and a serious mission. Our team includes engineers, researchers, cyber operators, and intelligence professionals who share a commitment to building technology that makes a real difference. We value technical depth, creative problem-solving, and people who take ownership of outcomes.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are hiring a Technical Lead to guide the architecture, delivery, and integration of our program component within a much larger federal system. You will lead the program’s technical resources, set a clear technical direction, and work with customer architects and other teams to make that direction executable.
This is a hands-on player/coach role. You will develop architecture diagrams that show how our component connects to the broader system, explain technical decisions and risks to executive leadership, and participate in the larger program’s SAFe planning processes. You will write code, review code, solve difficult engineering problems, and build production features when the team needs your help.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Build full-stack applications, including backend services, APIs, data models, and front-end interfaces, on Woven’s AI platform (Python/Django, FastAPI, React/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Take features from first idea through production deployment, and own their quality at every layer
• Use AI coding tools like Cursor to work faster, then review, test, and harden the code they produce
• Connect Woven applications to customer systems, including identity management, enterprise data stores, workflow engines, and existing APIs
• Deploy and configure applications on customer-designated infrastructure, including air-gapped and high-side networks
• Build deployment tooling for disconnected environments, such as offline package repositories, container images, and automated install scripts
• Set up CI/CD, automated tests, and validation suites that confirm the system works before and after deployment
• Debug problems anywhere in the stack, from the front end and application logic down to the database, OS, and network, often with no internet access
• Document architectures, APIs, and runbooks for both internal teams and customer technical staff
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years building and shipping full-stack web applications
• Proficiency across the stack, with a modern backend framework (Python/Django or FastAPI preferred) and a front-end framework (React/TypeScript preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), REST/API design (OpenAPI), and web application architecture
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) and good judgment about when to rely on them
• Experience taking an application from initial build through production deployment
• Proficiency with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu), Git, and command-line development workflows
• Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment
• Strong troubleshooting skills, comfortable debugging across the application, OS, network, and data layers
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Prior software work on federal contracts (USCYBERCOM, USSS, FBI, DHS, IC, or DoD)
• U.S. citizenship (required for clearance)
• Experience integrating applications into enterprise or government customer environments (identity, SSO, data pipelines)
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloudformation or CDK) and CI/CD pipelines
• Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience deploying multi-service or AI/ML applications in restricted or disconnected networks
• Experience building AI/ML features such as model inference, vector search, or LLM-backed functionality
• Background with NIST 800-171, RMF, or DISA STIG compliance
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Woven Solutions offers a comprehensive benefits package designed for high-performing professionals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based in Odenton, MD. A lot of the build work happens on low-side, but integration and deployment require hands-on access to classified systems that cannot be accessed remotely, so you will need to be on-site at customer facilities primarily.
Travel is moderate. Expect 15–25% to Woven’s Virginia office and occasionally other locations for integration and deployment work. Some travel may be on short notice for operational needs.
Schedule: Monday – Friday. Occasional off-hours availability for deployment windows or customer-critical incidents.
