95k - If they are CTS-D certified and is able to program and commission a system, module acoustics and basically a veteran mentor in the AV industry.

Working on site at the Grand Prairie office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with account managers to qualify opportunities, run discovery meetings, and gather.
• technical and functional requirements from clients, architects, consultants, and general contractors.
• Design AV systems including video conferencing, digital signage, presentation and display systems, sound reinforcement, control systems, streaming, and AV-over-IP solutions.
• Create system concepts, functional block diagrams, equipment lists, and preliminary drawings.
• Pick the right products and manufacturers for performance, compatibility, budget, and long-term support.
• Present and explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders including product demos and site walkthroughs.
• Review architectural drawings, RFPs, bid documents, and consultant specifications, and identify scope gaps, conflicts, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Do site surveys to assess existing conditions, infrastructure, and installation needs.
• Keep up with industry trends, new technologies, and manufacturer product lines.
• Cost Estimating

Other Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates covering equipment, materials, labor, programming, engineering, project management, freight, and subcontracted work.
• Do quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
• Develop labor estimates based on installation complexity, site conditions, and historical data.
• Get and evaluate quotes from manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors.
• Build bid packages, proposals, and scopes of work with clear inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications.
• Respond to RFPs, RFQs, and formal bids on time and in line with submission requirements.
• Apply pricing strategy and margin targets to keep proposals competitive and profitable.
• Maintain and improve estimating templates, cost databases, and pricing standards.
• Support change orders and help reconcile estimates against actual project costs.
• Collaboration & Handoff
• Hand awarded projects off to project management and engineering with complete documentation.
• Work with programming, installation, and service teams to confirm designs are feasible and supportable.
• Track opportunities, estimates, and proposals in the CRM and estimating software.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of experience in AV sales engineering, system design, estimating, or a related technical role in the AV integration industry.
• Strong knowledge of commercial AV systems, including audio, video, control, conferencing, and networked AV technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and AV drawings and specifications.
• Proven experience building detailed cost estimates and proposals.
• Working knowledge of IP networking as it applies to AV systems (e.g., VLANs, multicast, QoS, Dante, AV-over-IP).
• Proficiency with estimating and design tools such as D-Tools, XTEN-AV, AutoCAD, Visio, or similar, plus Microsoft Excel.
• Strong math, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting to clients.
• Ability to manage several bids and deadlines at once in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

• CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) from AVIXA
• CTS-D (Design) or CTS-I (Installation)
• Other AVIXA training and credentials
• Manufacturer certifications such as Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Cisco, Microsoft
• Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or Poly
• Dante certification (Audinate Level 1-3)
• Network certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Audio Engineering, Electronics, Construction Management,
• Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with design-build and plan-and-spec bid projects
• Comfortable working within a CRM
