Position Overview:
The Mid-Senior Mission Integrator provides technical leadership and hands-on integration support for U.S. Navy unmanned systems (UxS) programs. This role connects unmanned surface vessels (USVs), sensors, and communications systems into a shared operating picture for operators and decision-makers, including live video, position reporting, and radar and sensor tracks.
Working alongside the Senior Mission Integrator, this position bridges hands-on field execution and mission-level planning. The Mid-Senior Mission Integrator leads integration efforts independently, serves as a trusted technical point of contact for government customers and partners, and mentors junior team members as the program grows
Key Responisbilties:
- Mission Integration: Lead the integration of USV sensors, video, and data feeds into common operating picture systems such as Team Awareness Kit (TAK). Translate operator and customer requirements into working, mission-ready solutions.
- Test and Operational Support: Plan, coordinate, and execute UxS field tests, demonstrations, exercises, and real-world operations. Provide real-time troubleshooting during at-sea and field events.
- Systems and Equipment Readiness: Support installation, configuration, and validation of payloads, communications equipment, and ground control systems. Track equipment status and readiness.
- Customer and Partner Liaison: Serve as a technical point of contact for government customers, vessel and sensor manufacturers, and partner organizations. Coordinate requirements, schedules, and technical issues across multi-organization teams.
- Documentation and Standards: Develop SOPs, setup guides, CONOPS inputs, test logs, field reports, and briefings. Build repeatable processes so capabilities can be sustained and transitioned.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to junior integrators and operations staff.
- Business Development Support: Support proposals, technical write-ups, and quarterly reporting. Identify opportunities to expand capabilities for current and new customers.
Required Qualifications:
- Active SECRET clearance (or ability to reactivate).
- 6–10 years of experience in mission operations, operational planning, or systems integration, preferably in a military or maritime environment.
- Military experience (U.S. Navy, USCG, Marine Corps, or SOCOM preferred).
- Experience planning, coordinating, and executing operations, exercises, tests, or demonstrations.
- Ability to understand operational requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
- Proven ability to work with government customers, partners, and multi-organization teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in fast-paced, changing environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead tasks independently and mentor others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with unmanned systems (USV, UUV, or UAS) operations or integration.
- Experience with Navy programs, test events, or fleet experimentation.
- Familiarity with command and control (C2) and common operating picture systems.
- Experience developing SOPs, CONOPS, training, or operational documentation.
- Experience supporting proposals or business development.
- Project or program management experience; PMP or similar certification a plus.
- General technical background in communications, networking, or cybersecurity.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Relevant military or industry experience may substitute for a degree.
- A forklift license, computer or IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Security+), and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are a plus.
Security Clearance:
- Active SECRET clearance required (or ability to reactivate); ability to obtain a higher clearance is a plus.
