Senior Platform Engineer/ISSE

Location: Reston, VA

Description: On-site in Reston, VA Our client seeks a Senior Platform Engineer/ISSE to design, implement, and continuously monitor security controls across cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in information systems security engineering, platform engineering, and infrastructure management with a focus on security and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions
• Develop and enforce security policies and standards across all platforms
• Implement and manage security controls to protect sensitive data and systems
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle
• Monitor security events and respond to incidents in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on security best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in information systems security engineering
• Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of networking and security protocols
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2)
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with DevSecOps practices
• Knowledge of zero-trust architecture
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions
• Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security

Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this position.
