Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Field Support Specialist to support a classified government technology environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. The Field Support Specialist will provide hands-on support for Oracle and Sun Microsystems systems, ensuring optimal system performance and operational readiness.
Responsibilities of the Field Support Specialist:
• Troubleshoot Oracle and Sun Systems hardware, firmware, and software issues.
• Perform firmware and software patching activities across enterprise environments.
• Diagnose and resolve system failures and performance concerns.
• Support preventive maintenance and system health initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
Qualifications of the Field Support Specialist:
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP).
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting Oracle and Sun Systems hardware, firmware, and software.
• Experience performing firmware and software patching activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently in secure environments.
• Excellent communication and customer support skills.
Compensation for the Field Support Specialist includes:
• Salary range: $80,000 - $200,000 depending on experience
