[About the Role] As a Design Contractor (L3), you will drive critical design initiatives, creating and refining major system components that directly impact product development and manufacturing efficiency. You'll leverage your CAD expertise to turn concepts into manufacturable solutions while collaborating across teams to optimize designs for cost, reliability, and performance. This role is based in Camden, NJ and supports programs requiring a Secret security clearance.
[Responsibilities]
- Design major components and functional systems to improve products and manufacturing operations
- Develop layouts, sketches, and notes using CAD tools to present design proposals
- Evaluate design factors such as manufacturability, material availability, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-to-weight efficiency, and cost
- Communicate operational processes and recommendations to cross-functional teams and departments
- Recommend system and process enhancements for continuous improvement
- Manage assigned projects or processes with moderate impact on departmental results under general supervision
