Job Description
Job Title: Database Administrator
Location: Suffolk, VA (5 days onsite)
Clearance Required: Secret
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Top Must Haves:
Active Secret clearance
Certifications (IAT Level II) One of the following: CySA+, Security+, CCNA – Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP (MUST PROVIDE COPY OF ALL CERTS)
5+ years of enterprise database administration experience.
Microsoft SQL Server – Administration, clustering, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
PostgreSQL – Administration, replication, high availability, and performance tuning.
Database Security & Disaster Recovery – Access controls, backups, and recovery planning.
100% onsite in Suffolk, VA.
Qualifications:
Active Secret security clearance.
Certifications (IAT Level II) One of the following: CySA+, Security+, CCNA – Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience administering enterprise database environments.
Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including the ability to guide database initiatives, mentor team members, establish best practices, and provide technical direction on database architecture, performance, and security.
Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
Experience supporting PostgreSQL in production environments.
Experience with database backup and recovery processes.
Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning.
Experience with database security administration and access controls.
Experience supporting highly available and mission-critical systems.
