Senior Systems Engineer - Electronic Warfare
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to help develop and assess electronic warfare (EW) systems and concepts supporting naval aviation. You'll work with government and contractor engineers to turn operational needs into system requirements, evaluate design approaches, and support the integration and testing of EW prototypes and production systems.
This role works across software, FPGA, hardware, RF and antenna, mechanical, and systems engineering. Experience in electronic warfare is valuable, and candidates with related backgrounds in radar, RF, signal processing, or airborne systems may also be a strong fit.
Essential Job Functions:
Analyze system and subsystem components and develop implementation strategies for EW systems.
Translate operational needs and analysis results into clear system requirements.
Support system design, integration, testing, and evaluation.
Develop or use models and simulations to assess system performance and support trade studies.
Analyze areas such as sensor behavior, signal processing, detection, tracking, and discrimination.
Coordinate technical analyses with engineering leads, program leadership, government personnel, and partner vendors.
Document results in technical reports and briefings for customers and stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field with 10 plus years of experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance throughout the duration of employment.
10 or more years of relevant engineering experience with depth in systems engineering, RF engineering, radar, electronic warfare, signal processing, or a closely related discipline. Senior level experience is expected; Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Experience contributing to technical analysis, system design, requirements development, modeling, integration, or test.
Ability to learn new physical and mathematical concepts and apply them to engineering problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desired Skills:
Experience with electronic warfare, including electronic attack, electronic protection, or related mission systems.
Background in radar sensing, radar scheduling, signal processing, detection, tracking, or target discrimination.
Experience developing or using MATLAB models and simulations. Experience with other modeling or analysis tools is also relevant.
Experience with airborne systems or defense system development.
A master's or doctoral degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.
Experience leading small technical teams or coordinating complex analysis efforts.
