Business Intelligence Program Analyst
Direct Hire
On-Site Fort Meade, MD
Salary: $125,000 to $130,000 annually, plus benefits
Clearance: Active Top Secret SCI clearance is required
System One IT is staffing a direct hire opening for a Business Intelligence Analyst to support the Defense Information System Agency’s J6 Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Enterprise Directorate (DISA J6 C4E). The Analyst will provide technical and operational support for developing and implementing business intelligence tools that improve data collection, analysis, and visualization. This role focuses on strengthening reporting capabilities, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and supporting process automation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Support the development and implementation of the program’s business intelligence tools and dashboards to improve analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Collect, manage, and analyze data to provide actionable insights that inform strategic planning and program management.
• Develop data visualizations and reports to communicate trends, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders.
• Support process improvement and automation efforts to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of business intelligence outputs.
• Collaborate with program teams, analysts, and leadership to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging business intelligence tools and practices to recommend enhancements.
• Designs, develops, and maintains interactive Business Intelligence (BI) systems (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and other intelligence-related reports and dashboards in support of data and information systems services
• Creates and maintains efficient data models to support reporting and analytics, enabling data-centric operations
• Performs data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tasks to ensure data is ready for analysis, helping to characterize, shape, and normalize the data
• Writes and optimizes Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) formulas to create calculated columns, measures, and custom calculations for advanced data analysis
• Integrates data from databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and other platforms into BI systems for analysis
• Troubleshoots and optimizes performance of reports, dashboards, and data models
• Works closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and end users to understand data needs
• Implements and advises management on user roles and security settings in BI systems to control access
• Ensures accuracy, consistency, and quality of data used in reports and dashboards
• Maintains thorough documentation for BI system reports, dashboards, and data models
• Provides training and support to users on how to access and interpret BI system reports and dashboards
• Manages version control for BI system reports and dashboards
• Resolves issues with BI system reports, data sources, or performance problems
• Develops automated processes for data refreshes, report distribution, and alerts
• Works with program teams to ensure seamless integration of BI systems with organizational data systems
Requirements:
• 5-7 years of related experience
• Extensive business intelligence and integrated master scheduling experience
• Demonstrates mastery of business intelligence tools and techniques, with particular emphasis on Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Tableau in Military or Government environments.
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of data modeling; Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes; Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) formulas; and version control, ensuring accurate and efficient data analysis across complex organizational structures.
• Exhibits strategic expertise in integrating diverse data sources and creating interactive dashboards that provide actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Advanced proficiency in optimizing business intelligence system performance, implementing security protocols, troubleshooting complex data issues, developing automated processes, creating and maintaining documentation, and providing user training and support.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective BI solutions and working with program teams for systems integration.
• Experience working with classified systems and environments
• Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with impeccable multitasking abilities
• Proven stakeholder management and effective communication strategies with clients and senior management.
• Ability to take a conceptual discussion and build a presentation to convey the message to senior leaders.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Advanced MS Project, Word, and PowerPoint skills; proficient in SharePoint, MS Teams, Excel, and Outlook applications skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in data analytics, information systems, business, economics, or a related field.
Security Prerequisite: To be considered, must have a CURRENT/ACTIVE TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility to obtain SCI access.
Office Location and Travel: Required to report on site at Fort Meade, Maryland 5 days a week.
Some CONUS travel in support of the Government Customer may be required.
