Job Description

TEKsystems is looking for an experienced Mission Analyst to join our client’s team in a permanent, on-site position supporting Air Force and Space Force stakeholders at the Pentagon. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of space, defense technology, international partnerships, and national security. In this role, you will assess emerging technologies and military capabilities, conduct detailed risk-benefit analyses, and help inform decisions surrounding the release and export of space-related systems to U.S. allies and partners. You will also work closely with program offices, other military services, industry, and international counterparts to help ensure technology-sharing decisions protect U.S. interests while strengthening interoperability with our allies.

Responsibilities
Serve on-site at the Pentagon as a space systems and military technology analyst supporting Air Force and Space Force equities related to the export of space systems and associated military technologies.
Evaluate emerging space-related technologies and conduct detailed risk–benefit analyses to determine whether releasing information or capabilities to international partners is in the best interest of the United States.
Assess technology release proposals for factors such as interoperability, enhancement of U.S. competitiveness through foreign military sales, and the ability of partners to safeguard sensitive technologies.
Develop recommended policy positions on the release and export of space systems and related military technologies, ensuring alignment with national security priorities and security cooperation objectives.
Support the development, refinement, and implementation of export and foreign disclosure guidance for Air Force and Space Force systems, platforms, equipment, subsystems, and processes that impact or operate in the space environment.
Identify, analyze, and proactively address technology release and foreign disclosure (TRFD) requirements, challenges, and processes specific to space systems and technologies.
Coordinate with industry partners, systems groups, interagency stakeholders, and other U.S. government organizations to facilitate the export of interoperable space-related systems to international partners.
Prepare and deliver technical products, including briefings, white papers, and analytical reports, to support U.S. government engagements with foreign military and government officials.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients by identifying, analyzing, and evaluating complex systems, policies, and processes related to the release and export of U.S. space technologies and information.
Apply operational and tactical space operations experience across mission areas such as Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Space-Based Sensing and Targeting (SBST), Space Control, Navigation Warfare, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Missile Warning and Tracking (MWT), Theater Electromagnetic Warfare, and Space Access.
Collaborate closely with program offices and other service branches to gather technical and operational data, validate assumptions, and ensure recommendations are feasible and mission-aligned.
Produce clear, well-structured written analyses and recommendations that inform senior decision-makers on technology release and foreign disclosure issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and frameworks used to evaluate space system exports and foreign disclosure decisions.
Engage with headquarters-level organizations to align export and disclosure guidance with broader strategic and policy objectives.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience with space operations in mission areas such as Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Space-Based Sensing and Targeting (SBST), Space Control, Electronic Warfare (EW), Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Missile Warning and Tracking (MWT), or Space Access.
Demonstrated ability to apply operational and tactical space operations experience to policy, export, and foreign disclosure decisions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications for preparing briefings, reports, and analytical products.
Strong analytical skills to conduct risk–benefit analyses of technology release and export decisions for international partners.
Proven ability to perform in-depth research and produce clear, concise written products such as policy recommendations, white papers, and technical analyses.
Ability to work on-site at government facilities, specifically in a Pentagon environment.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support meetings, engagements, and coordination with stakeholders.
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor's degree.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical and policy issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders such as program offices, other service branches, and interagency partners.
Capability to operate effectively in a high-visibility, headquarters-level environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.

Additional Skills and Qualifications
Experience working with foreign militaries, including participation in international engagements or security cooperation activities.
Experience performing operational space functions in support of a combat-coded unit with a strong space foundation.
Experience working at the headquarters level, particularly within Air Force, Space Force, or other major defense organizations.
Knowledge of U.S. Space Force roles and missions, security cooperation, international affairs, and security assistance or foreign military sales (FMS).
Master’s degree in International Affairs or a STEM field.
Completion of Space 100, Space 200, and Space 300 courses, or similar professional military or technical training.
Background in business analysis and writing requirements, particularly for complex defense or space systems.
Familiarity with space force structures and space systems, including their operational employment and strategic implications.
Experience contributing to or interpreting export control and foreign disclosure policies for space or defense technologies.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with industry partners and international stakeholders in support of cooperative space programs.
