Business Development Associate - Clearance Desired

Job Description:
Cydecor is seeking a motivated Business Development Associate to support growth initiatives across the Department of Defense (DoD), federal government, and national security markets. Working closely with Business Development Leads and Growth leadership, this position will support customer outreach, market research, opportunity identification, pipeline management, and early-stage capture activities.

The ideal candidate brings experience in business development, customer engagement, or operational support, along with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. This position offers an opportunity to develop expertise in federal government contracting and business development.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct market research to identify prospective customers, partners, emerging requirements, and business opportunities.
• Support customer outreach, relationship development, and engagement activities across federal and defense markets.
• Assist Business Development Leads with opportunity identification, qualification, pipeline development, and early-stage capture activities.
• Research customer priorities, budgets, acquisition trends, competitors, and potential teaming partners.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, outreach activities, opportunities, and follow-up actions.
• Track and analyze business development metrics, market intelligence, and pipeline data to support forecasting and strategic planning.
• Coordinate with Growth, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to support customer engagement and organic growth opportunities.
• Prepare reports, presentations, meeting materials, and other documentation supporting business development initiatives.
• Monitor federal procurement opportunities, industry developments, and relevant government requirements.
• Support business development meetings, pipeline reviews, process improvements, and other assigned growth initiatives.

Here's what you need (Required Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of one year of experience in business development, sales, recruiting, customer outreach, account management, or a related field.
• Experience conducting outreach, developing professional relationships, and engaging with internal or external stakeholders.
• Experience researching organizations, analyzing performance or market data, and supporting planning or forecasting activities.
• Experience maintaining records, tracking activities, and preparing reports or presentations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Bonus Points If You Have (Desired Qualifications):

• Experience supporting federal, state, or local government organizations, including military service.
• Experience in business development, recruiting operations, customer engagement, or outreach involving government customers.
• Familiarity with federal government operations, procurement processes, or government contracting.
• Experience supporting market research, opportunity identification, pipeline development, or strategic planning.
• Experience using CRM, applicant tracking, or other pipeline management systems.
• Familiarity with federal procurement and market intelligence tools, including SAM.gov, USAspending.gov, or GovWin.
• Experience developing reports, analyzing trends, improving processes, or implementing standard operating procedures.
• Strong presentation, public speaking, and relationship-building abilities.
• Current Interim or Active security clearance.

Security Clearance:

• Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Work Schedule:

• Hybrid, 2-3 days in office per week in Crystal City, Virginia. Travel as required for customer engagements, partner meetings, and active pursuits.

Compensation and Benefits:
The projected compensation range for this position is $70,000-93,000. There are numerous factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the role, work location, education/certifications, and a contract's Labor Categories.
