Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a SOC Lead to support a company focused on cybersecurity operations, engineering, and compliance for the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This position is on-site at Manassas, VA and Washington, DC. The SOC Lead will oversee cybersecurity operations, threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring efforts across critical environments. Join a mission-critical program supporting and protecting the nation's nuclear security infrastructure through proactive cyber defense and operational excellence.

Responsibilities for the SOC Lead include:

• Lead and mentor the SOC team while ensuring 24/7 operational readiness and effective day-to-day security operations.
• Direct the detection, investigation, analysis, and response to cybersecurity incidents, serving as the escalation point for critical threats.
• Oversee and optimize security technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, threat intelligence, and security monitoring platforms.
• Analyze network traffic, system logs, and threat intelligence to improve detection capabilities and strengthen incident response processes.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and executive leadership teams to communicate cyber risks, protect critical assets, and maintain security compliance.

Required Qualifications for the SOC Lead include:

• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 4+ years leading a Security Operations Center (SOC) or security operations team.
• Strong experience with SIEM platforms, incident response, threat detection, network defense, vulnerability management, IDS/IPS, and security monitoring tools.
• Proven leadership, analytical, communication, and team development skills with the ability to present technical findings to executive leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Active DOE Q Clearance or Top Secret Clearance.

Compensation for the SOC Lead include:

• Salary Range: $170,000 - $190,000 depending on experience
• Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick Leave as required by law.
