Job Description
General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Scientist to work within our Inertial Fusion Technology (IFT) group located in San Diego, California. IFT designs, manufactures, and characterized first-of-a-kind precision components in support of the national labs, fusion, and science technologies. The successful candidate will become a member of the National Ignition Facility Capsule Production team in GA’s IFT Division. This position, under close supervision with specific detailed instructions on routine tasks, assists the scientific staff with the development, production, and documentation of materials required for high energy density plasma physics experiments conducted by National Laboratory scientists. These materials include, but are not limited to; ultra-spherical, thin wall, hollow, capsules or balloons constructed of atomically doped plastics, beryllium, or high-density carbon (i.e. diamond).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
