NetApp Engineer / SME

Our client, a leading Government Systems Integrator, is in need of a NetApp Engineer / SME for an initial 12 month remote contract supporting an enterprise federal infrastructure services program. This role is fully remote with limited travel and on call participation per customer direction and operational needs. The NetApp Engineer / SME will be responsible for supporting the architecture, implementation and sustainment of highly available storage platforms supporting mission-critical workloads across primary, alternate and regional environments. Key responsibilities will include, designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise SAN / NAS and storage virtualization solutions, storage migrations, upgrades and integrations with cloud / on prem environments, administration and optimization of large scale enterprise storage environments, design and maintain enterprise backup and recovery strategies, etc.

Required Skills:

• 12 years of experience supporting the design, architecture and administration of enterprise NetApp storage with a bachelors degree.
• Experience leading complex storage migrations, upgrades and integration efforts within an on-premise environments, specifically with NetApp.
• Experience supporting the design, implementation and migration of SAN / NAS technologies, storage virtualization and enterprise backup / recovery solutions.
• Scripting experience, preferably with Ansible, secondarily PowerShell.
• Netbackup experience, specifically to restore customer date if / when they lose it.
• Experience managing LUNs and SVMs.
• Experience managing and configuring NetApp ONTAP clusters.
• Understanding of NetApp Keystone model.

Preferred or Nice to Have Skills:

• Some level of NetApp certification.
• Experience supporting storage compliance, audit readiness, and documentation in an enterprise Federal IT environment.
• Red Hat OpenShift experience.
• NetApp Trident experience.
