Join CenCore's corporate accounting and finance team in Springville, Utah, as a paid, part-time Accounting Intern. Working directly under the Corporate Controller, you will gain hands-on experience in daily accounting operations through on-the-job training. Your work will support accurate financial records, timely reporting, and accounting compliance across the organization. CenCore invests in employee development, and interns who perform well may be considered for full-time opportunities after graduation as positions become available.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsibilities may include the following, under the accounting team's supervision:
• Prepare, maintain, and review daily journal entries for accuracy.
• Review credit card transactions for proper project accounting.
• Support timely accounts payable payments.
• Support accounts receivable collections by maintaining weekly overdue-invoice reports and tracking follow-up actions.
• Apply cash payments to open accounts receivable and maintain weekly reports of outstanding balances.
• Assist with month-end close activities to support timely, accurate, and complete financial statements.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to identify or recommend benchmarks and develop management reports.
• Maintain accounting records and support internal controls that mitigate risk, improve accuracy, and support compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Provide information to external and government auditors during audits.
• Assist with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
