Senior Full-Stack Java Software Developer
Location: 1775 Tysons Blvd, Tysons, VA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Java Software Developer who combines deep, hands-on development expertise with the ability to shape architecture and design decisions. In this role, you will build enterprise-grade applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and microservices, and Angular, and help deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions on AWS.
This is a hands-on position. You will write production-quality code, develop reusable framework components, and contribute to design and architecture reviews, while working closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Java/J2EE.
• Build and maintain applications using the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Develop APIs and manage integrations, including API Gateway configuration.
• Build reusable, framework-level components that go beyond feature-level development.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Improve application scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical solutioning.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from development and testing through deployment and production support.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, business users, and client stakeholders to turn business needs into technical solutions.
• Work within Agile and Lean development practices.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE, the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Proven experience with API development and integration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Hands-on work experience with Angular
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with at least one of the following: Kafka, ELK Stack, Spring Cloud Services, AppDynamics, API Gateway, or Jenkins.
• Proficiency with testing and development tools, including JUnit, TestNG, mocking frameworks (such as Mockito), Git, and Jira.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience participating in or leading design and architecture reviews.
• Strong understanding of:
o High-availability engineering
o Containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
o Single-page application development (e.g., Angular, React)
o Serverless computing
o Elastic scalability and high-performance systems
• Excellent communication skills, with experience working directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
