Job Description

Job Description
We are seeking experienced Software Verification and Validation (V&V) Test Engineers to verify embedded software and systems through embedded requirements-based testing. In this role, you will review requirements, develop and execute test cases and procedures, evaluate verification coverage, and support test dry runs. You will also debug test scripts, investigate unexpected results, document defects, and collaborate with software and systems teams to resolve issues.

Responsibilities
• Review software and system requirements for clarity, completeness, consistency, and testability.
• Develop requirements-based test cases and procedures, as well as Python automation scripts for embedded software.
• Execute manual and automated tests in laboratory, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and other hardware-based environments.
• Maintain traceability among requirements, test cases, execution results, and defects.
• Assess verification coverage, identify gaps, and recommend additional testing as needed.
• Support test dry runs by preparing test environments, validating procedures, and debugging test scripts.
• Investigate unexpected results; analyze software behavior and hardware/software interfaces; and document defects.
• Collaborate with software and systems teams on root-cause analysis and issue resolution.
• Use appropriate debugging, measurement, and analysis tools to evaluate embedded software and system behavior.
• Prepare clear test records, reports, and supporting technical documentation.
• Contribute to improvements in verification methods, test automation, and software quality processes.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field and at least five years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree in a related field and at least three years of relevant experience.
• At least five years of hands-on experience developing, integrating, testing, or verifying embedded software using C and/or C++.
• At least five years of experience writing Python scripts for test automation, test execution, data processing, or related engineering tasks.
• Experience designing, implementing, testing, or debugging interfaces between embedded software and system components.
• Experience with requirements-based testing, including developing test cases, documenting results, and tracing tests to requirements.
• Experience using requirements-management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or equivalent platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with aerospace product development.
• Experience with BLDC motor control, assembly-language programming, or the TI C2000 family of microcontrollers.
• Experience using emulators and debuggers in embedded systems.
• Experience with configuration management, version control, defect tracking, or continuous integration tools such as Git, Subversion, Jira, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with software assurance and systems-development standards, processes, or guidelines relevant to embedded systems.
• Experience verifying software against defined safety, reliability, or quality objectives.
• Familiarity with code coverage, static analysis, coding standards, test automation, and software quality practices.
• Experience with embedded test frameworks such as pytest, Robot Framework, VectorCAST, CANTATA, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with code coverage or static-analysis tools such as gcov/LCOV, Polyspace, Coverity, clang-tidy, or equivalent tools.
